Maternal, Newborn, Adolescent and Child Health

Maternal, Newborn, Adolescent and Child Health

RCRA contributes to empowering target marginalized and hard to reach communities to take actions that prevent ill- health for both communicable and non-communicable diseases, demand for access to quality health services.

She-PRIME scales up 2 prior initiatives:

  1. Expanding access to new/underused medicines for PPH prevention/treatment;
  2. Accelerating SRH/FP access through community health, livelihood, & climate resilience.

RCRA leverages its expertise in hard-to-reach mountainous areas to address 3 Delays:

  1. 1st Delay (Decision to seek care): Addressed via community engagement, MenCare clinics, father mentors, & MH parliaments.
  2. 2nd Delay (Reaching HFs): Mitigated through mobile clinics, backpack nurses (equipped with medical supplies for ANC/PNC/home visits), emergency transport networks (boda-boda riders), & community-transport cost savings groups.
  3. 3rd Delay (Receiving care): Tackled by training health workers (HWs) in EMOTIVE protocols, disseminating MOH guidelines, & strengthening integrated service delivery (SRH/GBV/HIV/MCH).
